High-Tech Orthodontics: About the Suresmile Braces System

    Last updated 1 year ago

Traditional braces have straightened teeth for decades with metal wires, brackets, and manual adjustments from an orthodontist. Now, thanks to the forward thinking of orthodontists and recent advances in technology, the SureSmile braces system is reinventing orthodontic treatment.

    How SureSmile Technology Works

First, your orthodontist will use a high-tech computer to create a 3-D computer image of your teeth. From this model, the orthodontist will create virtual simulations of your orthodontic treatment plan. Next, robotic technology is used to customize archwires in order to create the outcome planned by your orthodontist. The archwires are made of a copper, nickel, and titanium alloy in order to provide a gentle, consistent force that will move your teeth.

    Saving Time with SureSmile

The SureSmile braces system reduces treatment time by providing a series of customized wires that work efficiently to move your teeth into the desired position. Traditional braces can’t use the same wires as SureSmile, due to the high temperatures required to customize the specialized archwires. As a result, traditional braces can’t produce the same precise movements that SureSmile offers, leading to a longer treatment time. SureSmile braces save approximately eight months’ worth of treatment time over traditional braces.

    High-Tech Treatment

The computerized archwires created by SureSmile technology allow your orthodontist to orchestrate the movement of your teeth, shifting them directly into place. Traditional braces are adjusted manually, so one movement often causes other changes with the alignment of your teeth, resulting in the need for further adjustments.

He made us feel that it was important to him that we fully understood the treatment before he did anything else. The staff was great too. They treated us... More
